We offer two Waterbabies classes, and babies are enrolled based on their age. To select the right class please see information below:
Waterbabies 1 – for babies aged 6 months to 18 months
Waterbabies 2 – for babies for ages 19 months to 30 months
State Swim’s baby program is for children aged six months to two and a half years. Like many swim schools, our baby classes start at six months for a couple of reasons – it gives your baby time to ensure their neck and head muscles are strong, and their gag reflex is developed, which means they’re less likely to swallow water.
Yes, you or another caregiver will be required to accompany your baby. To help ensure your baby feels relaxed, we recommend the accompanying person is available to attend each class and feels confident in the water.
Our baby swimming classes are 30 minutes. Each class follows a similar format to enable you and your child to anticipate what will happen next to help build their confidence as you progress through the program.
Swimming classes run seven days a week all year ’round. To find your nearest baby lesson, use our handy class finder tool.
